Do you know your “Why”, your "Purpose"?

Whilst money is an important motivation it cannot alone be the reason why you and your team would fight on through the tough times! Did you know that as per the Australian Bureau of Statistics, more than 60 percent of small businesses stop their operation within the first three years of their startup journey? Sad, right? You will be surprised by the power that a genuine Purpose has on the morale and performance of you and your staff.

A small exercise can help you understand if you have done your job well as a leader to help your employees understand your purpose and your “Why”. In your next leadership or company meeting ask the attendees to answer the following questions:

• Why does your business exist?

• How does this help your audience?

• What are you doing to deliver on this?
